This is a request for help and support, both of my brothers have
become involved in a very radical branch of The Seventh Day
Adventist Church, called The Seventh Day Adventist Remnants.
Over the past few months, i have watched as they have become more
and more intrenched in this mind controlling cult, and yes, the
Branch Davidians are always at the back of my mind. This is most
defininetly a 'doomsday' cult, which predicts the end of the
world by fire in the year 2005. I have tried to be as accepting
as possible, trying to comfort my mother by telling her 'At least
they aren't violent' and so on. However, i am VERY DISTURBED at
having seen one of my brothers, for he is starving himself. Two
years ago (as an alchoholic) he weighed about 190lbs. yesterday,
as i embraced him and felt bones jutting our everywhere, he must
way around 120 if that. i asked him why - and he said that he
was obsessed with food, and that this pride had to be broken. I
said, how can you expect to serve the Lord if you wind up in
hospital, and of course he simply told me i didn't understand.
there is loads more that i can't get into right now.
Anyways, i need help for myself and my mother in dealing with
this, any phone numbers would be especially appreciated as my
mother does not have access to a computer. thanks.
