YES !!! David Steiner's father, Elder Hugh Leggett, was a Seventh-day Adventist conference ministerial secretary for over twelve years. During part of this time, Elder Hugh Leggett was ministerial secretary under Alfred McClure, who is now the president of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists and vice-president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. During the years that David Steiner's father was ministerial secretary in several conferences, his boss at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists was Elder Robert Spangler. Elder Robert Spangler was the ministerial secretary of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and was in charge of the conference ministerial secretaries. Elder Hugh Leggett and Robert Spangler had a very good working relationship during those years. The associate to Elder Robert Spangler, during the time that the Rebok Research Foundation was being created by Elder Joseph J. Battistone, was Elder Kenneth Wade. Robert Spangler was present at the first Rebok Research Foundation board of directors meeting in Fletcher, North Carolina in 1984. Elder Robert Spangler had promised Joseph J. Battistone that he would be a special advisor to Elder Battistone and The Rebok Research Foundation. During one trip to the General Conference in Tacoma Park, Maryland, several months prior to the first Rebok Research Foundation board of directors meeting in 1984, Joseph Battistone and David Steiner stopped and met with Elder Robert Spangler in his General Conference office. During that visit, Joseph Battistone went down the hall to visit with Elder Kenneth Wade. Web Master NoteNote # 1: I'm not sure how someone who writes a book such as "THE ORION CONSPIRACY" could accuse David Steiner of attacking Adventists in general. Have you read the book? Everyone from the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States and the Pope, down to the non-Adventist Christian are in some way in league with the Devil or being deceived by the Devil. I would say that Elder Kenneth Wade and the Seventh-day Adventist Church are the ones who know something about making attacks on the web. I would not call what is on my web page an attack. I would rather call it - exposing a bigger and more dangerous threat for the United States Justice Department and all U. S. National Security Agencies, than David Koresh and the Branch Davidian Seventh-day Adventist organization could have ever been. Note # 2: In 1988, a self supporting Seventh-day Adventist ministry in Beersheba Springs, Tennessee, called Pilgrim's Rest, produced an investigative report into The Rebok Research Foundation called THE REBOK AFFAIR. Several months before Robert Folkenberg was elected president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, David Steiner called Elder Farrel. David Steiner told Elder Farrel that he had learned, through sources associated with the development of The Rebok Research Foundation, that Robert Folkenberg would be elected as the next SDA General Conference president. David Steiner told Elder Farrel that it would be done in such a way as to avoid any smell of a fixed election. David Steiner told Elder Farrel that Robert Folkenberg's first priority would be to conduct the election of Alfred McClure as his vice-president. Elder Farrel asked David Steiner how a conference president could become the world SDA General Conference president, because it had never happened in the history of the SDA Church. Elder Farrel asked David Steiner if he really believed that Elder McClure would go from being Robert Folkenberg's boss, to taking orders from Folkenberg. David Steiner told Elder Farrel that when Robert Folkenberg got into the presidency his top priorities would be to make sure that he was re-elected, and that at the same time have the SDA Church by-laws changed giving Folkenberg absolute power over the world SDA Church. David Steiner told Elder Farrel that the election of Robert Folkenberg would mean that Kenneth Emmerson's family would still have control of the SDA Church's wealth. The Rebok Affair investigative report by Vance Farrel caused a lot of commotion in the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists where Elder Kenneth Wade was working. Elder Bradford, then the president of the North American Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and the vice-president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, was very involved in communication with people concerned about the failed Rebok Research Foundation. Robert Spangler was also very involved because his friend, Joseph Battistone, was a primary target of the special investigation report called THE REBOK AFFAIR. A few of the leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who were discussed in that investigative report, called THE REBOK AFFAIR, were: With the amount of communication, between angry parties hurt from the failed Rebok Research Foundation going directly to the General Conference, and from the amount of publicity and commotion that the Pilgrims' Rest investigative report caused in the SDA Church at large, it is shocking that Elder Kenneth Wade had never heard about the Rebok Research Foundation, Vernon Leggett or David Steiner. I believe that if you would like a copy of THE REBOK AFFAIR, you can write to Pilgrims' Rest, HCR 77, Box 38A, Beersheba Springs, Tennessee 37305, and ask to purchase a copy of the investigative report.
